Curly braces to binary files that are not displayable inline

If you put curly double braces around a binary file that is not displayable inline (not an image, I guess?), wouldn't it be a good idea if it just became a link to the file?

What I am thinking is that if I go {{test.pdf}} it would be cool if it became a link, not like this: test.pdf but like this test.pdf

(If I then wanted to link to the "page" of the file, I could use the square brackets.)
