This is a little crazy idea, and probably too costly in terms of CPU, but I'd thought I will write it down. Hatta could allow overriding of the code that displays the recent changes item and the version history item, depending on the mime type of the page. This way one could put thumbnails of the pages, to better show what has changed.
Also, Hatta can already override the diff, so why not show two thumbnails (before and after) as a diff for images?
The problem is that currently Hatta only generates thumbnails for the most recent version of the images, and overwrites them when a newer version appears. Keeping thumbnails of all possible versions could be costly in terms of disk space. Generating them each time they are needed is unacceptable considering how the Recent Changes page is very long and very often visited.
To be thought over.
